The rules, before day one.
Everything you agree to when you join a Habit42 cohort: how the 42 days run, how points and weigh-ins work, how awards are earned, and how we treat each other.

What you are signing up for.
Habit42 is a 42-day wellness program built on behavior change. You join a cohort, log your daily habits in the app, weigh in every Sunday, and show up for a live call each Wednesday. Everyone starts on the same day and finishes on the same day.
Habit42 programs are performance-based wellness programs. Your results are determined by what you do over the 42 days: habit completion and verified weigh-ins. Program fees fund program operations and participant awards. Every outcome is earned by effort. Nothing is decided by chance.
Not medical advice
Habit42 is a wellness accountability program and is not medical advice. Talk with a qualified healthcare professional before changing your diet, exercise, sleep, or daily routine, especially if you have an existing health condition or concern.
42 days, one clock
Each program runs exactly 42 days from the published start date, beginning and ending at midnight in your local time zone. No extensions.
Your cohort
You go through the program with the people who joined on the same code. Your leaderboard, community feed, We-Talk Wednesday call, and awards belong to your cohort only.
Everything in the app
Habit logging, weigh-in photos, the leaderboard, and the community feed all live in the Habit42 app. You need an internet connection to submit a daily check-in.
Who can join, and how.
You must be 18 or older to join any Habit42 program. By registering, you confirm you meet that requirement and that the name, email, and payment details you give us are accurate and your own.
Your seat is confirmed once your program fee is paid. Each registration covers one person.
Your join code
After payment is confirmed, your join code arrives by email. Enter it in the Habit42 app during onboarding to be placed in your cohort. Codes are tied to one person, cannot be transferred, and expire when the program closes. Sharing a code with someone who has not paid is a violation of these rules.
- 18 or older
- Program fee paid in full and confirmed before the program begins
- Valid join code entered at onboarding
- A scale at home, if you want to be considered for cash awards (see Weigh-ins)
- One account per person. No duplicates.
- No registering under another person's name or payment method
Log it every day. Earn points for what you do.
Each program comes with 12 daily habits chosen for that program's goal. You earn points by logging the habits you completed each day in the app. Points accumulate across all 42 days and set your position on the cohort leaderboard.
Building Blocks
Everyday positive habits. Daily fruits and vegetables, no eating after 8 pm, 7+ hours of sleep.
Power Habits
The harder habits that move the needle fastest. A workout, or your daily recommended water.
Negative habits
Behaviors to avoid, like fried foods or drinking your calories. Logging these honestly is required.
If your negative-habit rate runs high, it shows in your progress report with guidance for improvement. Leaving a negative habit off your log when it happened is a rules violation.
Mistakes happen, and they are fixable.
Logged the wrong habit, entered the wrong number, or missed a logging window because the app failed? Contact your host or Habit42 Support as soon as you notice. Honest mistakes reported promptly are almost always corrected without penalty. This exists for people acting in good faith, not as a loophole.
- Each habit can be logged once per calendar day
- Habits are logged for the current day. Past days cannot be changed after midnight.
- Log positive and negative habits honestly, every day
- No logging habits for another participant
- No automation, bots, or scripts to submit check-ins
Sunday is weigh-in day. Plan for it.
Weigh-ins are due every Sunday by 11:59 PM for the length of the program. They are how your results are tracked and verified, and the weekly leaderboard is calculated from Sunday submissions. Treat it like a standing appointment.
To submit, take a clear photo of your scale showing the reading and upload it in the Habit42 app before the deadline.
You need a scale to be considered for cash awards.
Both cash awards are based on verified weigh-ins, and a weigh-in is a photo of your own scale. Any home scale works, as long as you use the same one every week. Without a scale you cannot submit weigh-ins and cannot be ranked by weight or considered for either cash award. You can still log habits, earn points, join the leaderboard and We-Talk Wednesday, and earn Consistency Champion.
Choosing not to share your weight results with your cohort (see Privacy) has the same award effect, but you still weigh in every Sunday. Weigh-ins track your progress; sharing is a separate choice.
Weigh-in protocol
Weigh in first thing in the morning, before eating or drinking, in the same minimal clothing (or none) each week, on the same scale. That is what makes your results comparable week to week.
If a true emergency keeps you from weighing in on Sunday (weeks 1 through 5 only), contact Habit42 Support before 10:00 AM Monday with your scale photo and an explanation. Approval is at Habit42's sole discretion, is meant for exceptional circumstances only (illness, emergency, travel without scale access), and is limited to one approved late weigh-in per participant per program. Following these steps does not guarantee acceptance.
- Unapproved late or missing weigh-ins are left out of that week's results and leaderboard. No retroactive additions.
- A weigh-in that does not reflect your true weight at the time you submit it is an Integrity Policy violation.
- Photos of someone else's scale or body, or digitally altered images, are prohibited.
No final weigh-in, no final results.
The Week 6 weigh-in determines award placement, so no late final weigh-ins are accepted for any reason. The Monday exception does not apply to the final week.
Miss the final Sunday and you are not included in the final results, not eligible for any cash or Consistency Champion award, and unranked on your 42-Day Recap.
No extensions, estimates, substitutions, or alternate measurements. The number on the scale on the final Sunday is the number that counts. Everyone finishes on the same clock.
Three ways to earn an award.
All awards are funded by participant program fees. Two are cash awards based on verified weight loss. The third, Consistency Champion, is earned by reaching the program's habit-point threshold. Cash awards take precedence: if you earn one, it replaces any Consistency Champion reservation.
Largest weight-loss percentage
Top 10% of each cohort, by verified percentage of weight lost. Bigger cohort, more awards.
Most pounds lost
$1 for every verified pound. Lose 30, earn $30.
Consistency Champion
Hit the habit-point threshold and reserve one award from the Habit42 award catalog.
- Largest weight-loss percentage. Cash awards go to the top 10% of ranked participants (rounded down), ordered by highest verified percentage of weight lost. Being ranked requires a scale, both a baseline (Week 0) and a final (Week 6) weigh-in, and not having opted out of sharing weight results. Award amounts for each program are published once the program begins.
- Most pounds lost. A separate cash award for the ranked participant with the largest verified total weight loss over the 42 days, at $1 per pound (30 pounds lost, $30). Requires a baseline and a final weigh-in. If this participant also places in the top 10%, they receive both awards.
- Consistency Champion. Every participant who reaches the program's point threshold (shown on your dashboard) may reserve one award from the Habit42 award catalog, including during the program. A reservation holds your selection; it becomes an award only after final results are confirmed.
- One primary award per participant. If you qualify for a cash award, it takes precedence. Any Consistency Champion reservation is released and returned to the catalog. Participants who do not qualify for a cash award receive their reserved award according to these rules.
- All awards are confirmed at program close and are subject to a final eligibility review. Nothing is paid or shipped until final results are published and Habit42 confirms eligibility. Reservations may be voided if a cash award is earned or an integrity or eligibility violation is found.
Award timeline
Cash awards are paid electronically within 5 to 7 business days after final results are published and certified by Habit42. Consistency Champion awards ship after reservations are confirmed at program close. Recipients are notified by email. Eligibility requires compliance with every rule on this page, including the weigh-in requirements and the Integrity Policy.
Safe participation
Habit42 does not encourage extreme weight-loss practices. Participants are expected to pursue sustainable, healthy behavior change. Habit42 reserves the right to review any result that appears inconsistent with safe participation.
Forfeiture. An award forfeited because of an integrity violation is retained by Habit42 LLC as a platform integrity fee and is not redistributed to other participants.
Mistakes are correctable. Fraud and mistreatment are not.
Every award is funded by your cohort's program fees. Intentional fraud is not a rule broken against Habit42; it is a direct financial harm to the honest people beside you. Habit42 has a zero-tolerance policy for intentional fraud.
The same standard applies to how you treat your cohort. Because every participant's results are shared with the cohort at program close, each of us is trusting the others with something personal. Habit42 is a judgment-free, body-positive community, and that is enforced here, not merely encouraged.
Good faith is protected.
Wrong habit logged, wrong weight typed, outdated shipping address? Tell your host or Habit42 Support right away. Good-faith mistakes reported promptly are fixed without penalty. This policy applies to deliberate conduct: actions meant to gain an unfair advantage, or actions directed at another participant.
- Weigh-in fraud. Submitting a weigh-in that does not reflect your true weight, including deliberate dehydration, water-loading, a past photo, or another person's scale or body.
- Check-in fraud. Logging habits you did not complete, having someone else submit check-ins for you, or using automation to submit entries.
- Multiple accounts. Creating or using more than one Habit42 account to gain an advantage or get around a disqualification.
- Identity and payment fraud. Joining under another person's name or payment method, or letting someone else participate using your credentials.
- Award fraud. Giving false information for award delivery, or claiming an award not earned through legitimate participation.
- Body shaming and harassment. Ridiculing, demeaning, or making unwelcome comments about another participant's body, weight, numbers, pace of progress, or results. This covers the community feed, comments and replies, and any direct contact with someone you met through Habit42.
- Misuse of shared results. Screenshotting, reposting, or sharing another participant's results, photos, or personal details outside your cohort without their permission. Results are shared with your cohort, not the public.
For a first or minor issue where intent is unclear. Logged internally. No award impact unless repeated. You get the chance to correct the data and continue.
You may stay in the program, on the leaderboard, and in the community feed, but forfeit all award eligibility for the current cohort. This is permanent and is not restored by later compliance.
Immediate removal from the program. Program fee is non-refundable. Applied for clear, documented intentional fraud.
Habit42 LLC may skip tiers and apply any consequence that fits the severity of the violation. Determinations are made at Habit42's reasonable discretion, do not require proof beyond a reasonable doubt, and are final.
One payment. Here is when it comes back.
You may withdraw before a program begins by emailing support@habit42.com. Program fees are non-refundable once a program has started, unless Habit42 cancels the program because of insufficient participants or a technical failure on our side.
If Habit42 cancels a program before it starts, every program fee is refunded in full within 5 business days.
- You withdraw before the program starts: full refund
- Habit42 cancels the program: full refund within 5 business days
- You withdraw after the program starts: no refund
- Removed for an integrity violation: no refund
Private during the program. Shared with your cohort at the end.
Your weight data is handled in two distinct phases. Read both. They are not the same, and the difference matters.
Weeks 0 through 6: private.
Your individual weigh-in entries, your weight numbers, and your scale photos are visible only to you and to authorized Habit42 administrators. They are never shown to other participants and never appear on the leaderboard.
At program close: shared with your cohort.
When the program ends, every ranked participant's starting weight, ending weight, total pounds lost, and percentage lost are shared with everyone in their cohort, along with their display name and final standing. Results are shared under your display name and are not anonymous within your cohort.
You may use a display name instead of your legal name. Choose it during onboarding. Your results still appear to your cohort under that name.
Opting out of sharing your weight
If you would rather not share your weight results with your cohort, you may opt out by emailing support@habit42.com before your baseline weigh-in. Opting out means your weight is never shared with other participants, you are not ranked by weight, and you are not eligible for either cash award. You keep everything else, including Consistency Champion eligibility.
Opting out does not excuse you from weigh-ins. Weekly Sunday weigh-ins are still required for every participant. Your weigh-ins stay private to you and Habit42 and are used only to track your progress through the program.
This choice is made once and cannot be changed after the program starts, in either direction. That keeps results fair for everyone who chose to be ranked.
Your individual weekly weigh-ins between baseline and final are not shared, and your scale photos are never shared at any point. Your full name, mailing address, and payment information are never shared with other participants; shipping and payment details are used only to deliver your award.
Your display name and privacy settings control how you appear on the leaderboard and in the community feed. Review them before your program begins.
Accountability works best when we are honest with ourselves and one another. Our community is built on encouragement, not comparison. Whether you lost one pound, fifty, or simply stayed committed to healthier habits, you will find a cohort that celebrates your effort, supports you through setbacks, and cheers you on. Transparency does not divide us. It builds trust, strengthens accountability, and reminds us that no one has to pursue better health alone.
By participating, you also agree to Habit42's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service, which you accepted at onboarding.
If the rules change, you hear first.
Habit42 LLC may update these rules at any time. Material changes are communicated by email and in-app announcement at least 7 days before they take effect for active programs. Continued participation after notice counts as acceptance of the updated rules.
Questions? Email support@habit42.com or ask your host.
So, what will you do with your next 42 days?
The next cohort starts Sunday, October 11.
