1 — Overview

What you are signing up for

Habit42 is a 42-day accountability program where you build daily habits, earn points for completing them, and pursue awards alongside your cohort. Habit42 programs are performance-based wellness programs. Participants earn rankings based on measurable achievements, including habit completion, verified weigh-ins, and program performance. Program fees support program operations and participant awards, including performance-based cash awards and achievement awards. All outcomes are determined by participant performance and effort — never by chance.

Not medical advice

Habit42 is a wellness accountability program and is not medical advice. Participants should consult a qualified healthcare professional before beginning any diet, exercise, or weight-loss program, especially if they have existing health conditions or concerns.

📅

42-Day Structure

Each program runs exactly 42 days from the published start date. Programs begin and end at midnight in your local time zone. No extensions are offered.

👥

Cohort Model

You participate alongside a defined cohort of participants who all joined using the same join code. Your leaderboard, community feed, and awards are specific to your cohort.

📱

App-Based

All habit logging, weigh-ins, and leaderboard access happen through the Habit42 app. A stable internet connection is required to submit daily check-ins.

2

Eligibility & Registration

Participants must be 18 years of age or older to join any Habit42 program. By registering, you confirm that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide — including your name, email, and payment details — is accurate and belongs to you.

Registration is complete only after your program fee payment is confirmed. Each registration covers one individual participant.

Program Join Codes

You must have a valid join code from your Program Administrator to register. Codes are non-transferable and expire at program close. Sharing a join code with someone who has not paid their program fee is a violation of these rules.

  • Must be 18 or older
  • Valid program join code required at onboarding, provided via email
  • Program fee must be paid in full and confirmed before participation begins
  • No multiple accounts per individual
  • No registering under another person's name
3

Daily Habits & Points

Each program type comes with 12 daily habits selected for that program's goal. You earn points by logging completed habits each day through the app. Points accumulate across the full 42 days and determine your final leaderboard position.

Mistakes happen — and they're fixable

If you accidentally log the wrong habit, submit an incorrect entry, or miss a logging window due to a genuine technical issue, contact your Program Administrator as soon as you notice. Honest mistakes are almost always correctable when reported promptly. This policy exists for those acting in good faith — not as a loophole.

Building Blocks (+1 point each)

These are the everyday positive habits you want to build. Completing a Building Block earns you 1 point. Examples include getting your daily recommended fruits and vegetables, no eating after 8 pm, or getting 7+ hours of sleep.

Power Habits (+2 points each)

These are the harder habits that move the needle fastest. Completing a Power Habit earns you 2 points. Examples include working out and getting your daily recommended glasses of water.

Negative habits (−1 point each)

Negative habits that represent behaviors you should be actively avoiding — for example, eating fried foods or drinking calories. Logging a negative habit honestly is required; falsely omitting it is a rules violation. If your negative habit completion rate is high, it will be reflected in your progress report with guidance for improvement.

  • Each habit may only be logged once per calendar day
  • Habits must be logged for the current day — past days cannot be retroactively updated after midnight
  • Log both positive and negative habits honestly, every day
  • You may not log habits for another participant
  • You may not use automation or scripts to submit check-ins
4

Weigh-In Requirements

Sunday is the official weigh-in day — plan for it.

Weigh-ins are required every Sunday by 11:59 PM throughout the Healthy42 Program. They are how your results are tracked, ranked, and celebrated, and the weekly leaderboard is calculated from Sunday submissions. Treat it like a standing appointment, not a suggestion.

To submit your weigh-in, take a clear photo of your scale and upload it through the Habit42 app before the Sunday deadline.

Weigh-In Protocol

Weigh-ins should be taken first thing in the morning, before eating or drinking, wearing the same minimal clothing (or none) each time. Use the same scale for every weigh-in. This ensures your results are comparable week to week.

The weigh-in schedule

  • Baseline (Week 0) — Submitted at the start of the program. Required to establish your starting weight and be eligible for weight-based awards and final ranking.
  • Weekly weigh-ins (Weeks 1–6) — Submitted every Sunday by 11:59 PM during the program window.

Late submissions — the rare exception, not a second deadline

If a genuine emergency prevents you from weighing in on Sunday (weeks 1–5 only), contact Habit42 Support before 10:00 AM Monday with your scale photo and a valid explanation of the exceptional circumstance. Approval is at Habit42 administration’s sole discretion, is intended for exceptional circumstances only (illness, emergency, travel without scale access), and is limited to a maximum of one approved late weigh-in per participant per program. Meeting these steps does not guarantee acceptance.

  • Unapproved late or missing weigh-ins are excluded from that week’s official results and leaderboard calculations — no exceptions, no retroactive additions.
  • Submitting a weigh-in that does not reflect your true weight at the time of submission is a violation of the Integrity Policy.
  • Submitting a photo of someone else’s scale, body, or a digitally altered image is prohibited.

The final weigh-in is mandatory — no final weigh-in, no final ranking

The Week 6 weigh-in is the official end of your program and the basis for all final results. Because final results determine award placement, no late final weigh-ins are accepted under any circumstances — the Monday exception process does not apply to the final week.

Missing the final Sunday weigh-in means you are excluded from the final rankings, ineligible for all placement and cash awards (including top-10% awards), and unranked on your 42-Day Recap.

To ensure fairness for every participant, there are no extensions, estimates, substitutions, or alternate measurements accepted for the final weigh-in. The number on the scale on the final Sunday is the number that counts. Everyone finishes on the same clock.

5 — Awards

How awards work

All awards are funded by participant program fees. There are three awards: cash for the top finishers by weight-loss percentage, a Biggest Drop cash award of $1 for every pound lost, and a merchandise award for everyone else who reaches the program points goal. Cash awards take precedence over merchandise — if you earn a cash award, it replaces any merchandise reservation.

The three ways to earn rewards

Performance Ranking Awards
🏆
Top 10%
of ranked finishers by verified weight-loss percentage earn cash awards
Habit Achievement Award
🎁
Points Goal
reach the program points threshold and earn eligibility to select one Habit42 merchandise award
Biggest Drop Award
💪
$1 / lb
finisher with the greatest verified total pounds lost during the program. Award is calculated at $1 per pound lost.

Award Rules & Eligibility

  • ·Cash awards — top 10% by performance ranking. Cash awards are issued to the top 10% of ranked finishers (rounded down), determined by highest percentage of verified weight lost. Being ranked requires both a baseline (Week 0) and a final (Week 6) weigh-in. Placement award amounts are published for each program once the program begins.
  • ·Biggest Drop — most pounds lost. A standalone cash award is provided to the ranked participant with the largest total verified weight loss over the 42-day program period. The award amount equals $1 for each pound lost (for example, a participant with 30 pounds of verified weight loss would receive a $30 award). Requires both a baseline and a final weigh-in. This award is separate from the cash awards distributed for top-10% performance: if the Biggest Drop recipient also places in the top 10%, they receive both their placement cash award and the Biggest Drop award.
  • ·Merchandise achievement award — points milestone. Every participant who reaches the program points threshold (shown on your dashboard) may reserve one award from the Habit42 award catalog. The reservation may be made once the threshold is reached, including during the program. A reservation holds the participant’s selection but does not become an awarded award until final program results are confirmed.
  • ·All awards are confirmed at program close and are subject to final eligibility review. Your merchandise selection is held for you the moment you reserve it, but nothing is awarded or shipped until final results are published and Habit42 confirms the reservation. Reservations may be voided if a participant qualifies for a placement-based cash award or if an integrity or eligibility violation is identified.
  • ·One Award Category Per Participant. Participants may receive only one primary award. If a participant qualifies for a cash award, the cash award takes precedence over any merchandise reservation or eligibility. The reserved merchandise award will be forfeited, removed from the participant’s account, and returned to the Habit42 award catalog. Participants who do not qualify for a cash award may receive their eligible merchandise award according to the program award rules.

Safe participation — a note on the Biggest Drop award

Habit42 does not encourage extreme weight-loss practices. Participants are expected to pursue sustainable, healthy behavior changes. Habit42 reserves the right to review results that appear inconsistent with safe participation practices.

Award timeline

Cash awards are paid electronically within 5–7 business days after final results are published and certified by Habit42. Merch awards ship after reservations are confirmed at program close. Award recipients are notified by email. Award eligibility requires compliance with all rules in this document, including the weigh-in requirements and the Integrity Policy below.

Note on forfeiture: Any award forfeited due to an integrity violation is retained by Habit42 LLC as a platform integrity fee and is not redistributed to other participants. This is disclosed here so there is no expectation of redistribution.

Integrity Policy

Mistakes are correctable. Intentional fraud and mistreatment of other participants are not.

If you make an honest error — wrong habit logged, incorrect weight entered, outdated shipping address — contact your Program Administrator right away. Good-faith mistakes reported promptly are almost always fixable and carry no penalty. This policy applies to deliberate, intentional conduct — whether that is conduct designed to gain an unfair advantage, or conduct directed at another participant.

Every award is funded by fellow cohort members' program fees. Intentional fraud does not violate a rule against Habit42 — it is a direct financial harm to the honest people participating alongside you. Habit42 operates a zero-tolerance policy for intentional fraud.

The same standard applies to how you treat the people in your cohort. Because every participant's results are published to the cohort at program close, each of us is trusting the others with something personal. Habit42 is a judgment-free, body-positive community, and that is enforced here, not merely encouraged.

Prohibited conduct

  • Weigh-in fraud — Intentionally submitting a weigh-in that does not reflect your true weight, including deliberate dehydration, water-loading, submitting a past photo, or submitting another person's scale reading or body.
  • Check-in fraud — Deliberately logging habits you did not complete; having another person submit check-ins on your behalf; using automation, bots, or scripts to submit entries.
  • Multiple accounts — Creating or using more than one Habit42 account to gain an unfair advantage or circumvent a disqualification.
  • Identity & payment fraud — Entering a program under another person's name or payment method; allowing another person to actively participate using your credentials.
  • Award fraud — Intentionally providing false information for award delivery; attempting to claim a award not earned through legitimate participation.
  • Body shaming & harassment — Ridiculing, demeaning, or making negative or unwelcome comments about another participant's body, weight, starting or ending numbers, rate of progress, or published results. This applies in the community feed, in comments and replies, and in any direct contact with a participant you met through Habit42.
  • Misuse of published results — Screenshotting, reposting, or sharing another participant's results, photos, or personal details outside your cohort without their permission. Results are published to your cohort, not to the public.

Enforcement — three tiers

Tier 1

Private Warning

Issued for a first or minor offense where intent is ambiguous. Logged internally. No award impact unless repeated. Participant is given the opportunity to correct the data and continue.

Tier 2

Award Disqualification

Participant may continue in the program community, on the leaderboard, and in the community feed, but forfeits all award eligibility for the current cohort. This forfeiture is permanent and is not restored by later compliance.

Tier 3

Removal & Forfeiture

Participant is immediately removed from the program. Program fee is non-refundable. Applied for clear, documented intentional fraud.

Habit42 LLC reserves the right to skip tiers and apply any consequence commensurate with the severity of the violation. Determinations are made at Habit42's reasonable discretion, do not require proof beyond a reasonable doubt, and are final.

7

Cancellations & Refunds

You may withdraw from a program before it begins by sending an email to the program administrator at support@habit42.com. Program fees are non-refundable once a program has started, except in cases where Habit42 cancels a program due to insufficient participants or technical failure on our part.

If a program is cancelled by Habit42 before it starts (e.g., the minimum participant threshold is not met), all program fees are refunded in full within 5 business days.

  • Participant cancelled before program start: full refund
  • Program cancelled by Habit42: full refund within 5 business days
  • Withdrawal after program start: no refund
  • Disqualification for integrity violations: no refund
8

Privacy

Your weight data is handled in two distinct phases. Please read both — they are not the same, and the difference matters.

Private during the program. Published to your cohort at the end.

Weeks 0 through 6 — private. Your individual weigh-in entries, your weight numbers, and your scale photos are visible only to you and to authorized program administrators. They are never shown to other participants and never appear on leaderboards.

At program close — published. At the conclusion of each program, every participant's starting weight, ending weight, total weight lost, and percentage of weight lost will be shared with all members of their cohort.

Participants may use a display name rather than their legal name on public-facing leaderboard views within the cohort. If you would like additional privacy, choose a display name during onboarding instead of using your real name. Your program results will still be visible to everyone in your cohort under that display name.

These results are not anonymous and cannot be hidden or opted out of. If you prefer not to share your program results with your cohort, Habit42 may not be the right fit for you.

To be precise about what appears on the final results board: your starting weight, ending weight, total weight lost, percentage of weight lost, and your display name and final standing. Your individual weekly weigh-in entries between baseline and final are not published, and your scale photos are never published at any point.

Your personal details — including your full name, mailing address, and payment information — are never shared with other participants. Award shipping and payment details are used by Habit42 only to fulfill your award.

You control how you appear to others through your display name and privacy settings, which govern the name shown on leaderboards and in community feeds. We encourage you to review these settings before your program begins.

Why we share results — and how we expect you to treat them

Transparency is a core part of the Habit42 experience because accountability works best when we are honest with ourselves and one another. Our community is built on encouragement, not comparison. Every participant is on their own personal journey, focused on becoming a healthier version of themselves.

Habit42 is a judgment-free, body-positive community. We do not tolerate body shaming, ridicule, or negative comments about another participant's progress. Whether you have lost one pound, fifty pounds, or simply stayed committed to healthier habits, you will find a community that celebrates your effort, supports you through setbacks, and cheers you on every step of the way.

At Habit42, we believe transparency does not divide us — it brings us together. It creates trust, strengthens accountability, builds confidence, and reminds us that no one has to pursue better health alone.

By participating, you agree to Habit42's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service, both available at the links below. You also accepted these documents at the time of onboarding.

Changes to These Rules

Habit42 LLC reserves the right to update these rules at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email and in-app announcements at least 7 days before taking effect for active programs. Continued participation after notice of changes constitutes acceptance of the updated rules.
